Retired and Traveling ~ Near and Far

Day one was a travel day. Minneapolis (MSP) to Dallas (DFW) to Paris (CDG). We were up bright and early and Ubered our way to the airport. Our flights were booked though Go Ahead Tours and were with American Airlines. Flights were good and we touched down in Paris on the morning of day two! Day two - we did manage to get a little sleep on our overnight flight, so we feel pretty good. After clearing passport control and collecting our luggage we headed out to find the Go Ahead Tours representitive, who was waiting for us. Go Ahead arranged a taxi from the airport to our hotel, which we shared with another couple from Tampa, FL. Upon arriving at our hotel, we were greated by our tour director, Christophe. Hotel rooms were not ready (we did arrive early in the day), our luggage was put in a secure location and Christophe gave us metro cards. We jumped on the metro and started exploring! Searching for the Piping Plover in Sleeping Bear Dunes - June 2024 As the year 2024 is winding down, I look back and reflect on what it was like! What did we do? Where did we go? How did it go? 2024 was packed with everything from bar trivia with friends, to traveling abroad! My husband and I attended local events, like Bears & Brews at the MN Zoo , and the Opera at the Ordway Center for the Performing Arts    in St. Paul, MN. We road tripped to Northern Michigan to visit Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore ,  took the SS Badger  across Lake Michigan, and attended a pow-wow! An Alaskan Cruise happened in 2024, and a trip to Switzerland, Germany & Austria! And....I retired! As I look at my 2024 calendar (which is about to be filed away), I realize what a fun, busy (sometimes too busy) and awesome year it was, I know 2025 is going to be just as great!  In our travels and adventures, I take notes.
